The band playing in Leadenhall Market, London

Fellowship Band in concert at Leadenhall Market, London

On Monday 21st December, The Central Southern Area Fellowship Band gave a concert of Christmas music in Leadenhall Market in The City of London. The event was by invitation of Don Coombe MBE, the chief executive of The Coombe Trust, a charity that provides holidays and respite to needy and disabled children. Under the leadership of Bandmaster Brian Cooper the band attracted a very large crowd of city workers during their lunch break which joined in to sing Christmas carols. For a period during the two hour event the band and 'choir of onlookers' were conducted by Sir Alan Traill GBE QSO MA, former Lord Mayor of London. The acoustics of the Victorian market resulted in a remarkable sound as the band and choir echoed around the whole of the market.

A collection was made for the work of the Coombe Trust.
