Fellowship band plays in a medieval setting
On Saturday 1st October the Central Southern Area Fellowship band and singers visited Greenford to present a concert of music. The concert was held in a local church, The Church of the Holy Cross and was to raise funds to provide necessary modifications to both the church and the Greenford Army hall. The unique feature of the church was the medieval style of the mainly timber building. This provided an ambience to which the music responded. From the brilliant "Music for the Royal Fireworks" (Handle) to the more intricate "Arise my Soul Arise" (Goffin) and to the sounds of the ladies voices the acoustics provided a resonance that enhanced the music and provided a vibrant experience.
